About the Lomond Hill Runners

Founded in 1987 by Hugh McGinley and Willie Pugh, the club is a well kent presence on the Scottish hillrunning scene.

Our membership has rarely topped a dozen (with a few hingers on) but we regularly have nearly 100% turn out on bleak winter nights for torchlit bogtrots and guinness and we often outnumber many of the big clubs at the likes of the 'Ben'.

Lomond members are also heavily into a bit of masochism with many members enjoying success in long stuff like the Bob Graham, Tranter and the West Highland Way race.

Lomond also organise a number of races, trips and social events each year including:

  • January pub run
  • Bishop Hillrace on the first Sunday in March
  • April training weekend - eagerly awaited!
  • Lomonds of Fife Hillrace in mid August
  • Autumn running trip abroad
  • Christmas social weekend

The club welcomes new members (see for new members) but we would also enjoy your company on our regular Tuesday night training run. (see calendar)
