Braveheart Triathlon 2017
What a brilliant result for two female Lomies at the 2017 Ben Nevis Braveheart Triathlon held in and around Fort William. The race consist’s of three discipline’s which are; 1.2 mile open water swim, 56 mile bike ride (on NOT closed roads) and to finish, a 13 mile run up Ben Nevis from the transition area near the pier. Overall distance is around 70.2 miles.
Joan Wilson finished in 46th overall and 1st super/vet, with an overall time of 7hr.24mins.53sec (including transition times). Stat’s are Swim 42.37—Bike 2.55.50— Run 3.41.14.
Jean Bowman finished in 87th overall and 3rd super/vet with an overall time of 8hr-09mins.-53sec, (including transition times). Stats are Swim 43.12–Bike 3.09.18.–Run 4.06.36.
There were 130 finishers with 13 DNF, so all in all, this was an awesome performance from two very fit ladies.
A massive well done from all the Lomies.
