Welcome to Lomond
hillrunners
If you are just coming along to run with us or
planning to join the 'Lomies' as a member here are a few bits of info
that will help you settle in.
We don't cater for absolute beginners but if
you are doing a bit of running come along and give it a try!
Calendar - For
information about our Tuesday night runs look in the Calendar. Please
give Alan, Gordon, or Richard (see Contacts) a buzz beforehand to tell
us you are coming and for more details. For some of the further summer
venues we will team up at either Milnathort or Perth to share transport.
Training runs - we normally start
gathering from around 6.30 with a set off time of 6.45 and are normally out for about 1hr30 but it
is very much a social run with an easy pace and plenty of stops to give
people a chance to catch up.
Gear - In winter make sure you have full
body cover, hat and gloves and a working headtorch. Running shoes with
good studs will give you an extra margin of safety. Check the forecast
beforehand for any extreme weather (heavy rain/gales/icy roads) when we
normally revert to meeting at Glenwood High in Glenrothes (6.30) for a
low level run. We will normally decide this on a Monday and I will post
the latest on the Website.
After the run - We towel down,
change and head to the nearest pub to 'rehydrate'.
Other events -
- Races - Bishophillrace in March and
Lomonds of fife race in August
- Pub run - early new year
- AGM Oct/Nov
- Training weekend trip (normally Fri- Sun)
-late April
- Christmas night away - early Dec
