Fife coast pub run - Jan 2009Andy, Alan, Gordon, Laurie, David, Pat, Derek, John, Robert The Fife Lomies teamed up with John at the South Queensferry station where we took photies and set off for the bridge. We were blessed with a superb winters day of bright sunshine but in out of the sun our teeth were chattering before we started to warm up. We had the misfortune to arrive at North Queensferry before opening time and after lively debate Gordie persuaded us to go unquenched. We also somehow managed to slip thirsty past the golf clubhouse at Dalgety bay but we soon got into a rhythm of pints and short runs from village to village along this varied and delightful section of the Fife coast. Inverkeithing, Aberdour (where John felt a bit daft melting his hat on a red hot heater), Burntisland and Kinghorn passed us by feeling increasingly mellow. Pats garish attire attracted attention and they must have been thinking what kind institution we were out on release from. The darkness fell on our last section from Kinghorn where Pat, David and Robert made a meal out of crossing the burn. Fortunately Lauries Cartridge world was strategically placed for a quick wash up and change before we repared to the Annapurna for a superb Nepali meal and a few beers. Alan
